On the drive from Rabat to Meknes, we stopped at Volubilis on the way. The Lonely Planet describes it as “the best preserved archaeological site in Morocco” and it was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. We split off into small groups and wandered around the roman ruins, with its beautiful arches, pillars, and well-preserved mosaics.
A local man was already litter-picking with his wicker basket, so I didn’t do any in case it would take work away from him.
